I always think it is more important to hire an independent sales rep that hits the road instead of an independent sales rep who mainly works out of their showroom. It has become necessary since buyers don’t travel as much anymore. Also, when hiring an independent sales rep who owns a showroom, you will pay a monthly showroom fee (anywhere from $300 – $1500 per month) along with the 12% – 15% commission rates on all sales.
